           VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
 

On behalf of National Water Fund (NWF), and Water Institute (WI), Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites dynamics and suitable qualified Tanzanians to fill (2) vacant
posts mentioned below.

1.0 THE NATIONAL WATER FUND (NWF)

The National Water Fund (NWF) is a public funding entity responsible for mobilizing
resources and providing investment support for water services provision and the
management of catchment areas serving water supply abstractions. The Fund has been established by the Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 5 of 2019, which became effective on 01 July, 2019.

1.0.4 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. He/She shall be responsible for the day to day operations of the Agency
ii. Mobilize financial resources necessary for fulfillment of its objects under the
Act;

iii. Disburse funds to implementing agencies for the purpose of execution of water
projects;

iv. Issue loans on favorable terms to implementing agencies for investment in
water service provisions;

v. Monitor the use of the funds disbursed to implementing agencies;

vi. Facilitate capacity building of implementing agencies to improve and enhance
their ability in execution and management of water projects;

vii. Recommend to the Minister guidelines for issuance of loans to water authorities; and
viii. Develop operational guidelines on issuance of loan and grants to implementing
agencies.

1.0.5 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

i. Holder of a Degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution;

ii. At least five (5) years’ experience in managerial position or such other qualification as may be required;

iii.Has satisfied the Board that he is unlikely to have conflict of interest with the principal
functions of the Fund; and

iv.Is in the opinion of the Board, otherwise well suited to execute the functions of the
Fund.

1.0.6 EMPLOYMENT TERMS

Contract of 4 years renewable.

2.0 THE WATER INSTITUTE (WI)

The Water Institute is a Government Executive Agency established by the order
Government Notice (G.N) No. 138 published on 22nd August, 2008 and was renamed Water  Institute through the G.N No. 217 of 2016. Water Institute established in order to train the  technical workforce to serve the water sector.

2.0.1 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (WATER SUPPLY AND IRRIGATION ENGINEERING) 1 POST

2.0.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To assist in conducting tutorial and practical exercise for student in the department
under close supervision;

ii. To teach up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma);

iii. To prepare material for practical and tutorial exercise;

iv. To conduct research under close supervision;

v. To carry out consultancy and service job assignment under close supervision; and

vi. To carry out any other related duties assigned by the Supervisor.

2.0.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science either in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering with
minimum GPA of 3.5 or equivalent from recognized institution.

2.0.4 REMUNERATION

Attractive remuneration package in accordance to institution salary scale.

2.0.5 AGE LIMIT

Not above 45 years of age except for those who are in Public Service.

vi. An applicant must upload recent Passport Size Photo in the Recruitment Portal;
vii. An applicant employed in the Public Service should route his application letter through
his respective employer;

viii. An applicant who is retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should not
apply;

ix. An applicant should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts;

x. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).

xi. Professional certificates from foreign Universities and other training institutions should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and National Council
for Technical Education (NACTE);

xii. An applicant with special needs/case (disability) is supposed/advised to indicate.
