Mobile Payment Assistant

Established in 1984, Helen Keller Intl Tanzania works in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC), Prime Minister's Office(PMO), Local Government Authorities (LGAs), local NGOs, and other national and international development partners in the areas of nutrition and neglected tropical diseases (NTDS), particularly trachoma elimination. 

Scope of the Postion

Helen Keller Int Tanzania is seeking to recruit a Mobile Payment Assistant. The Mobile PaymentAssistant will be responsible for processing mobile payment vouchers, assisting in other finance andadministrative activities, and supporting general office operations. Due to the nature of the work, theMobile Payment Assistant will be required to work late into the evening (frequently until 6:30pm or later), but may start work later in the day than other staff; total hours per week will be the same asother employees.

Position Title: Mobile Payment Assistant


Key Responsibilities:

Be present in the recepton area of the office from the departure of the receptionist until office close each day, frequently 6:30pm or later.

Write mobile payment vouchers for staff advance requests, reimbursements, and participant payments, and initiate payments in mobile payment online systems.

Communicate as needed with mobile payment vendors to resolve challenges.

Assist in reviewing payment requests and fund disbursements.

Process payments to vendors after confirming office's receipt of all required deliverables.

Provide support to the Finance and Administrative Ofticer to ensure staff account balances are reconciled and mobile payment vendor statements are reconciled monthly.

Promptly collect and collate all timesheets at the end of the month for monthly closure.

File and scan financial documents.

Ensure all payments have adequate supporting documents and that all necessary authorization has been obtained for all payments.


Ensure finance documents are filed in a logical manner and coordinate retrieval of physical or soft copies as requested

Implement and maintain all internal policies and procedures relatng to finance payments

Perfom other financial and administrative duties as requested by the Finance and Operations Manager and/or the County Director

Desired Qualifications and Experience

Babaelor degree in accounting and finance plus six months of relevant experience. 

Able to demonstrate good planning and administrative skills.

Computer literate vith provn skills using MicrosoftExcel spreadsheets and Microsoft word 

Knowledge and understanding of accountng principles and procedures.

Possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Self-motivated and able to work under pressure

Team player and strong work ethic

Position is open to Tanzanian citizens only
