Risk Management Unit has vacancy for a Quality and Risk Management Intern and an Associate Advisor. The purpose of the position is to provide risk management services and promote adherence to KPMG policy and professional Standards within the firm.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Reviewing engagement contracts including advising on requested modifications to firm’s standard contracts
  • Evaluating and recording of potential conflicts of interest, ethics and independence issues
  • Conducting risk management trainings to firm’s employees and keeping them updated on development in risk management policies, processes and procedures
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of the firm’s risk management policies, processes and procedures
  • Responding to queries raised by staff in a timely manner
  • Advising on and monitoring compliance with various laws and regulation by the firm, its people and clients
  • Assisting on internal risk management compliance reviews and preparing reports to management.
  • Reporting to quality and risk managers on the above and other risk management assignments.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • CPA/ACCA qualified
  • Internship or working experience in internal audit/external audit/risk management/compliance departments would be an added advantage

  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines and resolve conflicting demands
  • Ability to work as a member of a team sharing knowledge and providing guidance and technical advice where necessary
  • A high aptitude for learning and innovation
  • A self-driven and result oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision
  • Willingness to think ‘outside the box’; and
  • A high standard of integrity
